Black Oak Ranch Camping

Hi Folks, This just in! The Black Oak Ranch is now offering safe, physically distanced mellow private camping following the guidelines of local and state health officials. This is not a festival or event of any kind but a unique and safe way to enjoy the Ranch with your immediate family. There are a limited number of sites so we suggest booking early. Have you ever wanted to camp on the Arlo Stage (Owl Stage Camp)? Have you ever wanted to camp inside the Beer Garden? Now's your chance! This offer will go thru until the end of September and be available each week from Thursday - Sunday night.

Kate Wolf Music Festival statement supporting Anti-Racist Movement

During this time of extreme pain and upheaval, along with hopefully positive changes toward a new and universally equitable paradigm shift, we'd like to recognize that the change that is being asked for: to abolish the systemic racism that continues to pervade our society, our governmental entities, our organizations and associations, our places of education, and even ourselves is long, long, long overdue.

We live in an age where social media, and diligence on the part of regular citizens to expose and publicize the atrocities that we are witnessing, is a validation of the abhorrent practices that have been carried out over hundreds of years at the expense of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color.

We applaud all who have taken it upon themselves during a global pandemic, at risk to their own health and those of their close loved ones, to continue to actively press the point on a daily basis, again and again and again.  Please continue to be safe out there.

As a part of this community, we'd like to ask that each of us continue to take the necessary steps in our daily thoughts, actions and practices to move in the direction of abolishing racist practices and even racism itself.  We are being educated to recognize that the idea of thinking that we are not racist, or that we don't display racist tendencies and actions, will not move things far enough down the road to a truly equitable society for all, with all meaning everyone.  The aforementioned thought process can even be a hindrance to truly understanding and helping to reverse this hundreds year old ingrained systemic situation.

The simple truth is that anti-racism work starts with the self. As Ijeoma Oluo, an African American Writer and Educator states: "The beauty of anti-racism is that you don't have to pretend to be free of racism to be an anti-racist. Anti-racism is the commitment to fight racism wherever you find it, including in yourself. And it's the only way forward."

We'd like to offer a short list that includes amazing articles, videos, podcasts and books, links and suggestions of ways to become more educated, more plugged in, more active, more charitable and more humbled. There are many resources available, written or produced by People of Color, that allow for increased exposure to, and greater understanding of, what it truly is like to walk in the shoes of those who have experienced this horrendous burden for so long.  We encourage the discussion, and most certainly the change, to continue on further than any of us can even envision:

Anti-Racism resources
Black Lives Matter
Equal Justice Initiative
Resources for Accountability and Actions for Black lives -
Black Owned Restaurants in the Bay Area
BIPOC Restaurants and Businesses in Sonoma County

As we have for a quarter of a century, let's continue together to grow, share, inspire, educate, check, play and love one another.

May you all be blessed with good health, safety, peace and understanding during these times and on into the future.

All the best,

Kate Wolf Music Festival
